St. Clare of Assisi Training Institute offers practical technical and vocational training that equips young people and communities with skills for work, enterprise and life.

The Institute builds on a long history of skills development in Kakuma. Began as the Turkana Homecraft Centre in 1991, the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM) took over management in 2001, providing training intended to help young women develop skills and income-generating capacity.
Rooted in the FMM commitment to education and service, the Institute seeks to create opportunities for pastoralist and refugee communities. Through hands-on training and holistic formation, St. Clare aims to help learners learn and grow, developing practical abilities, confidence and the capacity to contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.
